IM Newbie (by Kevin Fahey) review: a very detailed, high quality, newbie friendly course that gets everything covered.

When people ask me what the best course to get started online is, my initial response is not to point them to some expensive training.

Side note: It really makes me sick when I see the so called gurus offering their 5k-and-above training for people who are just starting out. And not because the content is bad -sometimes it is- but because when you are starting out

a. You do not need to get some advanced content

b. and most importantly, you do not need/want to start your Online Marketing career by putting down a ridiculous amount of money.

I once attended a live Online Marketing conference where someone was offering group coaching (for anyone, he said, which started to make me suspicious), then mentioned some success stories… and then the big red flag: he said it was ok to go into debt to purchase his training (sigh).

Anyway, I’m drifting a bit, so back to the original topic: my recommendation is, without a doubt, Kevin Fahey’s IM Newbie.

Why do I recommend this course over the million of training out there?

  • It’s properly priced. It’s not “good value for money” or even “reasonable“. It’s pretty damn cheap, plain and simple (less than 10 bucks)
  • Despite being cheap, the content is solid.
  • You get step by step video training for each part
  • It covers every single aspect that you need when you are starting out
  • It does NOT cover unnecessary stuff that you won’t be needing at this point.
  • Kevin’s support is known to be top notch (so if you have any follow-up questions you are guaranteed to get a response)

What you get is 6 training modules covering everything you need to learn when you are starting out:

  • Module 1 is about getting your domain, hosting, etc.
  • Module 2 is about installing WordPress and all the configuration stuff
  • Module 3 is all about Email Marketing
  • Module 4 is Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Google+)
  • Module 5 is about creating your blog (and making it profitable) plus other traffic strategies
  • Module 6 is a sum up of all the previous steps and a few extra resources

So, for many people this will be very basic stuff, but if you are struggling to be profitable, you need to make sure to go back to the basics, and this course is perfect for that.

Check it out here.

But remember, any training is worthless if you don’t apply what you are learning (a bit like Mark Twain’s quote “The man who does not read has no advantage over the man who cannot read“)

EmailFindr Review

this is my first product review in over a year. I want to keep working on my video skills, so here is the result.

The product is called EmailFindr, and it can help you find the e-mail address (and other social properties) from a specific person. The only thing you need is their name and domain name.

Have a quick look and see if it can help you in your business somehow:

I can think of many ways to use this product: to find prospects/customers, get better customer support, agencies, consultants, freelancers, vendors/affiliates, bloggers, job seekers, startups, guest posting…

Ultimately, it solves a universal problem: How do I get in touch with him/her?

If you like the product, have a quick look here: EmailFindr Access

PS. Full disclaimer: my review account had full access to all the tools, but they are sold separately. The ones I like the most are: EmailFindr and EmailDigger (Email Genie is great too, if you do email marketing)

PPS. Hope it was useful!

A very simple way to sell your first product (for under 10 bucks)

I’ve had this question asked multiple times: How do I get started and make my first dollar online?

And my answer is always the following, something along the lines of:

  • First, set up a small niche site and put Adsense ads (no need to sell anything).
  • When you have mastered step 2, add some affiliate links (soft selling).
  • Once you have mastered steps 1 and 2, sell your own product

Step 2 is usually more profitable than step 1, and step 3 (selling your own product) is usually more profitable than step 2 (meaning than 3 is much better than 1).

If you sell your own product, you are in control of marketing, you can build a list of customers and you get to keep 100% of the profits (minus the commission that those “·$”·%!·” at Paypal take, way too high!) 😉

The only issue is that, well, you need a product.

Here is an idea for you to get your feet wet with selling your own product: WP Funnel Profits

It is a pack of 30 “How to” video tutorials with Private Label Rights.

It means that you can put your name on the product, sell it and keep 100% of the profits.

But not only that, you will get everything you need to build a list:

  • A squeeze page so you can get people into your e-mail list even before they decide to buy
  • An e-mail sequence of 12 messages recommending related affiliate products (already proven to convert), so you can learn about e-mail marketing
  • Plus step by step training showing how to set up the whole funnel

What I’d do with it would be the following:

  • Set up your squeeze page (using the one they provide)
  • Drive traffic to it. If you have a blog/website, you can promote it there. Otherwise my number #2 recommendation would be to drive traffic via either Facebook or any PPC networks (Adwords / Bing Ads).
  • Start building a list for people interested in WordPress
  • Promote this product to them (the 30 video tutorials). For each sale you get to keep all profits
  • Promote other related products to them (there is a ton of plugins / themes / services related to WordPress that you can promote).

Now don’t get me wrong, ideally you want to be selling your own unique product, built by you. However, IF you have not reached that point, this can be a great learning experience.

The price to get the videos and all the rest is under 10 dollars, so you should be able to get your investment back with just 1 single sale. Plus, you will be learning a list, and the most important thing, you will learn how to set up a funnel beginning to end.

If you decide to get WP Funnel Profits, feel free to send me any questions you might have along the way and I’ll be happy to help.

WP Freshstart 3 Video Review

This is my first video review ever, so please don’t be too hard on me!

Today I’m reviewing WP Freshstart 3, a plugin to set up the basic setup of a WordPress site.

What it does is the following:

  • Creates multiple pages with one click (About Page, Contact Page, Legal Pages, etc)
  • Removes the sample WordPress posts, pages, and comments
  • Adjusts the permalinks setting to /post-name/ for better SEO
  • Creates multiple categories
  • Creates new blank posts and pages
  • Installs multiple plugins at once
  • And finally, it has something called “InstaReset”, which will reset your WP site to its original state (in case you messed it up)

(Make sure to share this with your friends so you can embarrass me even more!)
